Since Memphis City Council and Mayor AC Wharton considered cutting health care subsidies for City Employees there has been a strong surge in absences by City of Memphis' policemen and firemen. Police Officers and Firemen are reportedly expressing the disdain of their health care cuts and have used an increased absenteeism rate to prove a point. It appears that all City of Memphis employees will be affected by these proposed cuts and surprisingly even those who are retired or beneficiaries of those who are deceased will be affected.
For me its like promising something, then once you're on board, the conditions of an amicable understanding change. Seems like an old "bait and switch" action by City Officials? Do you think City Employees are being treated fairly or is this just the downside of our present economy, for which no one is immune? Let me know what you think!
